The Short
Meet Anna and Elsa, an optometrist and optician turned hands on designers. They are having fun fulfilling their dream creating accessible eyewear without compromising quality.

The Long
Anna is an optometrist who dreamed of designing a branded frame line since she was in optometry school. Elsa is an optician and frame buyer who has dreamed of creating fun functional fashion since she could dawn a handbag. Spoiler alert, more to come! They are both native Southern Californians who have worked in the private optometric sector for over 20 years.

Anna and Elsa met while working at Dr. David Golden’s optometric practice Practice. They quickly became friends as they share a mutual love of Bootsy Collins, dim sum and all things fashion. As David and Anna’s practices grew all three realized there was a missing product niche.

Although the offices are successful distributors of designer frames, not all consumers are interested in the high price tag. Other value frame collections just didn’t meet our quality standards. Not to mention the low rating on our style barometer. We saw an opportunity to fulfill a need!

With this in mind we went to New York to meet with frame manufacturers and preview raw materials. Back at home we started the creative process and subsequently we launched PEPPER ZAGG in 2017. Although we lost our dear friend and mentor, David, in September 2021 we will always be grateful for his encouragement and support. We are empowered by his spirit.

Eyewear is how we express our individuality. We focus on unique products that will make you stand out from the crowd. We love hearing the creative ideas our customers have. These ideas are what drive us to create our new collections!
